I then had a school of coutta move in and promptly started to destroy my traces, landed a few only to irritate them further.
It was then about 10pm when the rod buckled over, end result was a fat kahawai which unofficially weighed in at 3.1kg. On first sight I actually thought it was a rat king. The other rod went also upon which another fat kahawai came in, this one at 2.8kg's.
Right at midnight, when I was thinking of packing up and heading home one rod started off with small bites, then 30 seconds later bent over. Picking the rod up I felt a nice weight on the end and it started behaving similar to a snapper. Yes I thought, this is it, finally a snapper. A good struggled ensued, I coaxed it ashore only to find to my dismay a very large and angry eel looking at me.
