Fished Napier last evening (Saturday), the guy alongside me was fishing two rods with a pilchard suspended a metre off the sea bed with a small block of polystyrene. He hoping to pick up a Kingfish, he was rewarded with two nice fat Kahawhai.

We picked up five pot sized sharks and three gurnard. Conditions were perfect although the breeze off the sea was very chilly later in the evening.
