Hey, I've been watching this forum but decided to join recently as I'm hoping to kerb my current success rate, i have been surfcasting here for a few years, and have caught nothing.... I cant quite figure out what im doing wrong. I have a 12' surfcaster and wade out to between waist and chest deep to through my line, have tried squid and soft baits neither have worked.

I usually fish about 2 hours before the incoming tide and fish through to the high tide. Im hoping to go out this friday after work as the "Jan calendar" that is posted in this forum looks promising for the evening although it will be outgoing tide.

Hints or tips would be awesome... Or if there are any wanganui people on here who wouldnt mind a tag along so i can learn that would be amazing.
