Gonna head up to HB at easter to see family . May stow the rods for a poke around. Will be staying in the Tuki Valley so close to either Ocean Beach/Waimarama or Richmond Rd - Haumoana - TA -Clifton area.
I have flirted with surfcasting there before but time and circumstances didnt permit. If different this time I aim to have a poke around late evening or super early morning on either general area. Gonna either fish Pilchard/Mussel or Trev. Dont want secret spots - But if anyone wants to theorize that one choice is better than another I am all ears. I will be picking up a new reel my sister is bringing back from the USA when up there and aim to use that as leverage to get out and about.
Grew up in the Bay so am reasonably good at finding my way about still.

Do wonder what the extreme south end of Waimarama might be like given the rocks and such?
