I believe some of the blame can be placed on the fact the Veritas rod is not supplied with a rod case, even a cloth bag will help cushion those little knocks. This is poor for a rod that can hardly be described as being the cheaper end of the market.

The shop I purchased my rods from immediately recognised my concern and gave me two cloth bags, they [the bags] are not brilliant but they are a lot better than nothing.
