Had to laugh when on saturday morning at the shop i was asked if we had any anchovies for bait not once but about 10x, after board readers here gleamed Rexs Snapper concoction. Alas we have been out of stock like most for some time. But i haven't seen a big Snapper turn down most baits in front of them. The toughest part is finding the big snapper, and casting a bait in its vicinity as most know. Outstanding fish Jimmy!! absolutely wrapt for ya . Good to see a decent turnout at the first club weekend for the season. Good to see a variety of fish taken too. I heard that a Elephant fish was taken surfcasting out clifton yesterday, which is pretty cool for the local HB fishing scene. There have been a couple of large snapper hooked and lost this week too, so looks like we are into a nice early flurry. Will try my luck tomorrow afternoon before the next Southerly change.
