I always used to wrap the line around the shank of the keeper hook but always got a case of the what if a big one comes along and bits through the trace line. I have only just gone back to having the keepers on my traces I stopped using them while fishing off the rocks in northland for some stupid reason and just never went back to it till now. most of those hooks int he pic are 6/0 octopus circles as the main hook and 4/0 or 5/0 mutsu hooks as keepers
