was thinking about buying a couple of 500 meter spools of mono to respool my reels as 300 meter spool lengths are not filling the spool right up. But on the other side of the coin I am also tempted to just put a top shot of 8 or 10 kg braid on the reels just to get them filled up I used to surfcast with spider wire many years ago and used to like the fact I could fish a strong current and not have line pulled down the beach and was awesome for west coast fishing to get past the white wash. What is the best braid to use for surfcasting these days since there are different types available compared to 15 - 16 years ago.
