Just wondering if some metal lures are designed to be tied directly to the mainline? could it cause line twist? Pulled out a new lure today and went to tie it on then noticed there was no split ring and swivel like I am used to seeing, just a metal hoop... Thought about using a clip swivel but then worried it might fail loosing it or if by some stroke of luck I happend to hook into a kingi instead of a kahawai. Is it simply a cost saving method whereby I should go out and get a split ring and swivel myself? surely not. So whaddaya rekon tie it on, direct, clip swivel or split ring + swivel. Or my best idea so far was to go -Mainline->Shockleader->Swivel->Short fluro leader->Lure. For landbased spinning
