Hi Rondo, as a lure manufacturer and lure user I tend to two ways on my smaller lures say 25gm and a fixed spool reel I put a genie swivel and link tied directly to my main line, with my larger heavier lures I tie a double leader line onto a swivel and a lefties loop onto the lure .hope this helps.
