Good luck to those with quads this weekend if they choose to fish Whakaki. I wont be there either. Its a pity that the council cant do a bit of work opening up the back track to spread the visitors around a bit. Surely it would be possible to make marked (fenced) tracks to the beach from parking areas all the way down to the old cut. Now that might make some friends for them.
I note that signage is up re quad and vehicle registration and requirements to wear helmets on the beach too. The quad plod squad might just be about to hit the beaches soon. "The Beach is a Road" is the headline on the signage.
