I can agree with that Gary when I could only cast as far as the middle of the breakers I was getting bugger all bites unless I wanted to wade up to my chest to cast my line out to get over the back of the waves, now that I am starting to practise different casting techniques like the off the ground cast when not using pulley rigs and the one you call the water cast when I am using a pulley rig as I always find the bait comes unclipped on the pulley rig when attempting the off the ground cast.
