If distance is not a benefit, how is it that so many serious fisho's do everything they can when setting up their rods, reels and tackle to gain every metre they can. Why do so many wade out to cast, they do so to get more distance. If distance wasn't important we would all cast from a position on the beach where we wouldn't get our feet wet. It's a no-brainer, every metre helps. However we also know that accuracy is important if you wish to be able to put your bait in the right place such as a whole or gutter or as you said in your piece Gary, in the middle of a school of skippies.
