It's great... just like fishing off a jetty. I remember parking the Rodeo there one day on the sandbar.. 4 feet from the water's edge and fishing sitting on the tailgate. When the big clean waves come thru you can see the Kys in the curl and when you actually see your kahawai getting monstered by a kingi whilst still fighting to escape you kinda feel sorry for the buggers... But never enough to let it go!! I hope your "jetty" does stay put for ya into summer... it would be great fishing straight into a deep hole without too much effort.
