That beach drop off is only 100 yards long. The camera makes it look like 300. If it stays, I will be jostling for room when the hopefulls get to hear of it. Strange, how they sit at home doing nothing, but sitting in their chair. Waiting for somebody to talk, so they can get their info easy. One slipped word and its around town. And my four weeks of sussing places and no bites, turns to sh-t. And I am pushed out of the hole.

Its the same with whitebait down here. A cold stinky windy day, only the diehards are out. Nothing doing. Next day there are a real few out. The river is dirty and they are blind dragging. OOhh they get 40lb, each. Go home, show their wife.
Next day there are no possies on the river, the nets look like white butterflys around your cabbages. Its a wonder they don't take off.

Westport Tiphead, day after day one or two fisherman have a try, they come and go. Then one catches a snap. Perhaps he skites, maybe two beers to many. Maybe his kids who knows. Next day on the tiphead, 20 bloody rods.

I'm not saying everybody should miss out, but I kinda like being on my own, and those that do the hard yards end up being squeezed out by the " Hopefull"s, when they can ease themselves away from Sky TV, after they have got out of their armchair.

You guys that head out night after nite, and me after day after day are the guys that are indeed true fisherpeople. We endure those cold days, nights, no bites, no fish.

In World War 2, before a bombing run, the RAF sent in Mosquito fighter bombers (very fast) to drop incendries on the intended target, they become known as the " Pathfinders" they showed the way for the main bomber force.

So us winter/spring fishers are indeed "Mosquito's.

    We show the way.

    Loose lips sink ships.

But buggar we all love to skite, and I guess share.

Such is the way of surfcasters. Nice lot of guys aren't we.

Chad should just be crossing Cook Straight about now. "Yeh ha baby, this is my greatest ride ever"

Her answer, I am really a blowfish baby, wake up, but only a couple of 100 ks to Trevs "Fishy Resort" and I can take care of you.

Ouch thats getting close to being censored.

    Oh well

    Cheers Trev
