Stopped in at Whakaki on my way home today. Two guys fishing in a really fishy looking sea. Water wasnt clear but it wasnt that dirty either. They had only just started and had a couple of bites. The beach is looking good with most of the big logs gone. The big sandhill in front of the car park is all but washed away and the track down the back of the dunes is flooded. Changed but no problems. Wont be long now. One of my customers put out a kontiki at North shore Rd last weekend and caught one spiney back, four kahawai and a gurnard over a kilo. Positive stuff.
