Abu Garcia Veritas Tip Ring

Good morning all,
Can someone tell me where I am able to purchase a genuine replacement Tip Ring for my Abu Garcia Veritas? The insert on mine has fallen out and I would prefer to replace the Tip Ring with the genuine thing rather than a standard one.

Whats up with Tackle Suppliers? I have been trying for several days to find one that can supply a replacement tip ring for my Veritas. So far I have contacted two by e-mail and phone and still waiting for a response from both. I am now thinking I shall go off-shore and try the USA or UK.

If the insert has fallen out I would be looking to replace it with a more dependable tip guide such as a Fuji.

I agree with Team Century, Fuji have got the name and reputation for quality, which is why a lot of quality rod manufactures carry Fuji's guides.

Yes, Fuji may be a few dollars more expensive but the end eye [the tip] is without doubt the most important, load bearing eye on the entire rod. You only require one eye, why risk breaking another Veritas eye. By breaking one this will already have given your confidence a knock.

I rang a few days ago and had to leave a message but got no reply. I followed up yesterday with an e-mail yesterday and have just received a reply from Jason. He says they do not supply replacement guides but is going to try and find something suitable. I have asked him if he can supply a Fuji guide as suggested by "Team Century".

Yes it costs more but without a good tip ring the rod is only an expensive tomato stake.

Top Catch here at Tauranga only use Fuji tip guides so I shall pay them a visit. Thanks everyone for your help and good advice.

Good one if they don't have the MGAT Fuji tip Hopkins and Holloway give great service. and the 12mm tip is worth it for weed etc jamming in a smaller tip.

I wouldn't bother to put a larger tip ring on because the next ring down is smaller in diameter , there is no point having weed stuck between the tip and guide . You don't need to go offshore shop local . Team Century has OSF or DBL.

I have a Fuji Tip guide on its way to me, the same as used on latest (2.0) Veritas rods.

Go off shore for service and the product that is available simple really Fuji widely available here?
NO, nor a decent selection.
Simple reason for adding a larger tip ring it takes the pressure of a weed lump striking and breaking the tip, simple physics really.
ABU man seems happy with the advice he got, job done. OSF or DPL what's that mean? cheap shot at someone who gives advice and has previously done custom rod builds? who knows, who cares.

There is a good selection of guides available through the Nz agents but most shops stock the standard guides for obvious reasons . You just need to ask to look at the catalogue .
In my opinion there is no point having a big clump of weed stuck behind the tip if you have a fish on , at least you can let the fish run and just walk it up the beach if the weed is on the outside.
OSF offshore fetish DBL don't buy local.
You take things to seriously Mark , just to make you smile I use a couple of rods that you custom rebuilt with Lowriders.

Fishing is serious when life throws you curve balls. I'm not though going to put my personal loss here just getting totally absorbed into fishing helps.
Yes I've known about the rods for along time. As is having a rod ring break or the tip due to poor workmanship.
Last time I bought a product from the NZ stockist the product (resin) was way past its use by date and had degraded probably due to storage, a better product arrived today in pristine order.

I have been into fishing on and off for over 60 years but still need help from time to time. I find this forum a great place to get answers to occasional questions that I have, some for my own knowledge, some on behalf of others in our Club. I appreciate all comments and thank everyone that has offered advice this time on my tip guide problem.
