And I have internet on my phone but I have to be careful with usage amount. It has to last until the 30th so I just go to Reddit. No YouTube or anything.
Been playing some Crusader Kings as a count in Aberdeen. I planned on doing nothing and that worked for a while. But then I got some claims through marriages so started pushing them. Before I knew it I had the three island territories in the north, three others (including one in Ireland, and the high chief title for those islands.
Still, my plan was just to take titles only when the situation presents itself. I wanted to eventually get all of Scotland but still not take the king title.
But nothing was happening for like two generations. Then the king died, the new king was weak, and I had a claim because my mother was the daughter of some king. I saw that I had like 150% of the king's military might so I had to go for it.
Crushed him easy, then a mini revolt was crushed and I was king. Scotland was tribal but I spent all my time just improving one could try. I always gave all the other counties to family members or whoever in the dynasty had the claim. So my one territory ended up being the most developed by far.
I was able to switch to feudalism so I did. Then I immediately revoked all non-dynasty members' titles. It's a gamey move because you get free revocations from tribal people. But most everyone switches to feudalism within a month of you doing it. But I revoked before they had the chance. Only two dukes refused and they had four counties total. I had loads of money and troops raised already so I got some mercenaries and stomped those traitors good.
So now I have all of Scotland. Gave most of the territory to my sons and nephews and grandsons. Loads of child dukes and counts. My guy is about to die and I didn't rule long enough to be able to change the succession laws so my remains four territories will be divided between my young sons but it's all manageable. That guy will have a long time to get those territories back and change the laws.
