I've been blocking channels like crazy lately in an effort to find non-annoying Mario Maker videos. There's a trend nowadays for kids (and adults who should know better) to upload video game footage where they just screech at the game like little girls. So I blocked loads of these ####ers.

But I'm still getting the "top 10 (whatever)" videos. So I blocked the keyword "top 10". But you also have to block "Top 10" because it's case sensitive. And then I was still getting top 10 videos anyway so I tried both variations without the quotes. And that still doesn't solve the issue of "10 shocking (whatever)" or "10 amazing (whatever)".

So I just ended up blocking the number "10". That worked but then I thought that I'm blocking stuff that happened in October or on the 10th of any month or possibly videos that are 10 minutes long or videos about the 11th century, et cetera. So I deleted that one.

So it's back to blocking "10 most" and "10 times" and all of this. Really annoying and I'm blocking some great content because I do like watching some top ten videos. But if you watch one, YouTube will recommend "top 10" videos to you until the end of time. Just because I wanted to watch the top 10 moves of Lou Thesz doesn't mean that I want to watch the top 10 My Little Pony episodes.

In other news, got an email from the last company I worked for in London. I told them that maybe I could do jobs in Edinburgh for them because they do some work there.

So I get an email asking if I'd be interested in doing jobs there but not as what I actually do. You know, with the £2000 machine and £2000 piece of software and £3000 training course and years of experience and refinement. No, they wanted me to go there with a tape recorder and just chillax.

They've been bringing these people in who just record stuff for some time as a way to save money and keep the transcript work for their employed people. It's mostly young people who do this job. They're doing it until they find something better. Also some older people who were in career fields that no longer exist or they just can't find a job or whatever.

But they mostly hire annoying out of work actresses. This is largely why I quit that job. I couldn't stand listening to these self-absorbed morons any longer and my complaints were being ignored.

So I get this email, "Hey, you want to do this job that anyone off the street can do?". I gave them the business. Told them that I'm a professional and that if they want somebody to hold an audio recorder for £60/day they should put an ad on Gumtree and hire some more obnoxious failed actresses.
