Also signed a new lease today for a new flat. It's in a crappy area but it's well within walking distance to the court I usually work in. So that will be awesome. Save a bit of money too. It's £15 more a month than I'm paying now but I'll easily make that up in not taking the train. I think it's also significantly bigger than where I am now. And has a dishwashing machine which is a first for me. And I'll finally be out of this dump.
I'm not going to pay the last two months' rent for this place which is going to be difficult. The last month, sure, people manage that. But two months? The reason is that these guys are huge crooks and I can't trust them with the deposit. And my deposit is £200 more than one month's rent.
In other news, cooking some more of this terrible chicken soup. I forego the chicken diet while I was sick. Also didn't work out. So it's been a week but can't work out when you're sick.
I put salt and pepper in it this time so let's see if that helps. It was edible when I added salt to it last time but not good. And I don't just want to add salt to things. You can do that with anything. Just add salt and it will become edible. That's the whole appeal of salt. It first gained popularity as a way of eating rotting meat.
So adding salt to stuff is lazy but there's also the negative health effects. How tough can it be to make a decent chicken soup with tasty spices and/or ingredients? My mother, who was not a great cook, made chicken soup and it was alright. And this was before the internet. The internet should be full of the best recipes of all time.
