So I accepted another job that covered some of those days. But then that case got cancelled.
So a couple days ago, I get an email saying, "We tried to send you an email six weeks ago but it bounced. We'd like to book you for these two jobs." So I said, yeah, I didn't get any email so accepted other work but that's been cancelled so I can do it.
Today I get a request from yet another company to book a job for next week. This is a continuation of a job that I did earlier in the month. And I told these people right after the hearing, in an email, that the case is listed for later in the month, and I told them the date, and I said that I'm available to do it. Never heard from them.
Until today. Suddenly, they want to book me for next week. These are cheap bastards leaving everything to the last minute because they don't want to be on the hook for a cancellation fee in case things get changed.
So I relished that email. "Hey, I was available when I sent that email two weeks ago but not any more. I can put you on the waiting list in case that one gets cancelled, I guess. p.s. Go fuck yourself, you miser."
All that these people talk about is money. Acquiring money and ways to avoid spending money. It's a sad way to live. But these are sick people. There's not a single law practitioner who enjoys their job. These are the worst people on earth. They know that what they do is immoral but they do it anyway, day in and day out, year after year, because they're obsessed with money.
It doesn't even bring them a good life. They're all divorced or never married unable to form meaningful relationships with other people. They might have some children from a previous relationship but they're lousy parents so the kids aren't doing anything great in spite of going to the best schools.
I had a guy talking about his son going to community college in the US. AND THAT WAS A BOAST! Literally anyone can go to community college in the US. As long as you can the tuition. Community college is the lowest form of university education in the US. I think most community colleges only offer two year associates degrees. You want to know the last year any employer cared about an associates degree? About 1972.
So now they're just places where young people who didn't apply themselves AT ALL in high school go to smoke pot and play frisbee. There are also some older students there desperately trying to find a way out of their crappy jobs.
Anyway, I'm a beacon of righteousness and I spend money freely. That's what it's all about.
I was reading something about the Student Loan Company. Oh. I remember now. That head of the Labour Party wants to abolish tuition fees, which would mean the end of the Student Loan Company.
What a glorious day that would be. If they can do it in Scotland, they can do it in the rest of the UK. They've been doing it in Finland for who knows how long. Even for international students.
It's about caring for your fellow man. Having empathy. Not everything is about maximising profit. Why should anyone profit off of education anyway?
Some people are just better than others. You can see it in the way that the respective countries are governed. Finland always tops the list of best places to live.
I mean, yeah, if tuition fees are abolished (which won't happen) Wymark will be out there looking for work. But that's good. Find an honest job. Let's check out Gumtree.
Well, here's an interesting one. Bear in mind, this was in the "jobs" section.
"I am in severe pain with worsening back and hip osteo. I can't afford to buy a mobility scooter but wind red if any one has any ideas to help."
I don't know what "wind red" means. Local parlance, I guess. But...I sympathise with this woman. Why isn't she getting this for free from the NHS? Because England is shit, governed by assholes, and the general population are by and large assholes as well.
Here's a cheap bastard looking for ad hoc accountancy work for "small companies". Here's an idea: go to an accountancy firm.
The rest of these ads are chuggers, volunteer work, and telesales. Oh wait, here's one. Insurance Sales Advisor. £18,000/year. That's perhaps more than average, sadly. You need two years working in a "regulated financial services environment". I suppose student loans would qualify.
"No one should work their birthday so please have the day off on us!"
Yeah. How about instead of these dumb gimmicks, you just pay me more?
Here's a "valeter". Whatever that is. Cleaning cars, I think. "Self-employed". What a scam.
Yeah, there's not much here. Most of these are "job wanted" ads. But if there's no work, just move.
Here's an interesting turn of phrase. "I am looking for work, can put my hand to most thing". Must be a regional expression.
I say be a man and move. Go to the big city. Take a chance. It worked for Christopher Columbus. You wouldn't believe the raping and pillaging that that guy was doing in the New World.
You know, I've seen more Americans in Scotland than I have English people. That's how cowardly the English are. They won't leave their inbred village to try something else. Why not go to Glagsow or Edinburgh or Aberdeen? There are jobs there. No, I'll stick with my ASBO family. I enjoy staying in my rut.
I remember telling an English person who was complaining about how hard it is to move that I moved to the UK and he responded, "Yeah, you must have known somebody here." "No, I didn't know anyone."
He was completely bamboozled. You moved to another country without knowing anyone? You must be some kind of superman.
It's just about getting shit done. I moved all across the country in the US, I moved to Dublin, moved to London, moved to Glasgow, moving to Edinburgh. I don't know anyone. It's all about rugged-individualism.
Nothing can bring you peace but yourself.
