It tastes exactly like Pot Noodle - Original Curry. So much so that I'm thinking, "Man, this is crazy...does the same company make these? These must be the exact same ingredients as that powdered shit they use in Pot Noodle."
Unilever makes Pot Noodle.
Walkers is owned by Frito-Lay.
So not the same company.
I can't compare ingredients but when you look at the ingredients, these aren't even potato crisps. They have something called "potato granules" as the second ingredient (first is sunflower oil), third is potato starch, fourth is "gram flour", fifth is rice flour.
On the front, these things are described as "flavour potato & gram flour snack". I have no idea what that even means.
Let's look up "potato granules". "A dehydrated mashed potato product". This sounds like an industrial byproduct. It should be disposed of, not used as your second ingredient in a product sold for human consumption.
"Gram flour" then. I know what flour is but what's "gram" in this sense? Oh. Some Indian thing. Ground chickpeas.
Anyway, you do get a slight hint of lime in these so it's not quite like the Pot Noodle. Or maybe it's just psychosomatic because it says "lime" on the front of the bag. There's no lime in the ingredients, after all.
I wouldn't say that they're good but I find it fascinating that they're so similar in taste to these Pot Noodles.
