Oh poor baby. Can you believe that this was a story in a national newspaper? "Woman Can't Buy Sandwich Because Her Card Was Declined".
But yeah, all of those keyboard sages out there saying, "SEE? SEE? This is why you should always carry two forms of payment! SEE? I TOLD YOU!"
This is advice that I've never heard even one time in my life. But now it's all over the place.
What if both Visa and Mastercard servers go down? You'll get these people saying, "SEE? SEE? This is why you should always carry THREE forms of payment!"
Or all of the credit card servers go down. "THIS IS WHY I ALWAYS SAY YOU SHOULD CARRY CASH!" Or credit card servers go down and hyperinflation causes cash to become worthless. "THIS IS WHY I ALWAYS SAY YOU SHOULD CARRY GOLD COINS."
Anyway, I learned my lesson from all of this. I'm going to apply for a Mastercard, American Express card, Discover card, Diner's Club card, China Union Pay card, Rupay card, I'm going to keep £10,000 in cash under my matress, and I'm going to keep another £10,000 in gold and silver coins in a home safe. Let's see M&S refuse to sell me a sandwich now.
