Raspberries are my favourite fruit so when I saw this it was an easy decision. Comes in a little pint-sized container like you would see for ice cream. But this is no ice cream.
I'm sure we've all had sorbet before. I'm the only one who almost made it to the age of 40 without having a sorbet. But just in case I'm wrong, let me tell you that sorbet is not ice cream. It's basically a frozen fruit smoothie. Or another description would be it's like a raspberry popsicle but not as solid. But also not as smooth as ice cream would be.
I'm not impressed with the texture. It's just eating frozen blended raspberries. Quite sweet too. I don't know. I won't be buying it again but it's a slight relief from this warm weather we've been having.
Raspberries are the only fruit I buy but I don't do it often because they're expensive and you don't get many. Two pounds sterling for a little container that holds maybe 20 raspberries. Are they really worth 10p a raspberry? I don't think so.
I also get grapes once in a great while but only the red ones. As a kid we always got the green ones so now as an adult, I like the opportunity to try the red ones out. They're smaller than the green ones but I like them. They probably taste different but without doing a direct side-by-side taste test I couldn't tell you for sure.
According to the internet, red grapes are also healthier for you.
My lady friend had an expression, "The darker the berry, the sweeter the juice" or something. Wow. According to the internet, that comes from the late Tupac Shakur. I wonder if she knows that of if it's just something she picked up, probably as a kid.
Some say the blacker the berry, the sweeter the juice
I say the darker the flesh then the deeper the roots
I give a holler to my sisters on welfare
Tupac cares, if don't nobody else care
I remember when that minstrel was shot. I was in my dad's car and he was listening to Rush Limbaugh on the radio. Rush broke the news, "He's been shot and had his lung removed. I guess he's One Pack now." Then he gets an update that he died, "I guess he's No Packs now".
No, he died in 1996 so it couldn't have been my father's car. Maybe I was in my own car. I sometimes listened to weird shit because I didn't want to be like everyone else. So instead of listening to the alternative rock station (alternative rock still being quite popular at the time with the youth of America) I'd listen to National Public Radio which had classical music, or a guy reading a story, or a little play, this sort of stuff. Or I'd listen to talk radio. Jim Hightower was the name of the guy I listened to most. He talked about conspiracies. Every single story involved black UN helicoptors.
So maybe this "One Pack" comment was from Jim Hightower instead of Ruch Limbaugh. I don't think I listened to Rush Limbaugh.
Anyway, I eventually gave into peer pressure (even though I didn't talk to any of my peers) and started listening to the alternative rock station instead.
