It's a bit tastier. Not spicy. Not hot. But still pretty bland. Imagine eating chicken, rice, and sausage. That's what it tastes like.
Oh, I also added the thyme and oregeno that the recipe called for.
I looked at other recipes. Maybe I'm not using enough spices.
No. All of the recipes are pretty much the same. Use a tablespoon of "canjun spice" and nothing else. Some add additional spices but most don't and it's nothing massively different anyway.
So I guess this is just it. This is what it's supposed to taste like. I just expected more from cajun food. I can add tabasco sauce to make it hotter but I'm much more interested in flavour than heat.
Speaking of heat, I had one of those super hot ramen noodles a week or so ago. For once, no blood in the stool. Awesome. I think it's because of that granola that I've been eating. If I don't eat it for a few days, the stool gradually goes back to normal but normal isn't particularly good for me. But yeah, too much of the stuff and you get giant loads of horse dung.
