I never got the impression that this guy was "right wing". To the contrary. He seemed like a "liberal".
I'm reminded of how the Republicans and the Democrats switched ideologies after the Civil War. It used to be that the Republicans were the "liberal" party and the Democrats were the "convservative" party. But how could it all have switched?
Living in these strange times, I'm begining to understand. The Guardian is supposed to be a "liberal" publication. But look at the absolutely offensive dog shit that they write on a daily basis. Man-hating, faggot promoting, Muslim promoting, vile shit. This isn't "liberal". This is straight up fascist.
And read the comments. Virtually everybody shits on the articles and the newspaper generally. This is why the Guardian has largely eliminated the comments section.
The readership of the paper are "liberal" in the traditional sense. But in this weird alternative reality that we're living in, the shit that the Guardian writes is considered "liberal". Shit that in previous years would be considered deeply offensive by "liberal" people. So that's why the readership is so hostile to the paper. The paper is no longer "liberal". Or it is, but only in the current sense. And in the current sense, "liberal" apparently means "fascist".
It's been a slow process, I suppose. Twenty years ago, I was talking about liberal fascism, or how "liberalism" can be used to promote fascist causes. For example, the "Rock the Vote" campaign that saw music superstars of the era encouraging the youth to go vote in elections, thereby achieving the fascist aim of granting legitimacy to the system.
People said, "Oh, no. What are you talking about? That's nonsense. Voting is good. Everybody should vote. There's nothing fascist about that. You're the fascist."
Anyway, now look. "Liberals" are openly hostile to elections. They're doing everything they can to overturn that "Brexit" election, they're physically attacking "right wing" politicians, and "conservative" Donald Trump has been the subject of ridicule and abuse by "liberals" since he took office.
One can do an in depth analysis into modern "conservatives" and see that they're actually promoting the "liberal" agenda of the past but that's a lesson for another day.
