This problem is more common than you'd expect. Usually caused by XP thinking something has happened it's install... Can be caused by using crack to avoid product activation. That's what happened me - changing for 160GB from 80GB. Best way to deal with it is to use Barts PE and boot your machine "live". Take all the stuff and get them to external drive etc. Then reformat drive [NOT quick format] and a fresh install. Ghost of full install partition once a week avoids the issue. E.
Can be caused by changing hard drive and cloning to new one...
