I did a complete reinstall yesterday evening.

I have the important stuff running again burt not my TV card or scanner. I suspect a hardware fault somewhere.

BartPE is a good bit of software Eddie, and I will Ghost it as well.

Good advice too Peter but I play computers in the evenings whilst half-watching Eastenders etc. I have relied on the laptop during the last few days, and (touch wood) the workshop PC seems OK as it doesn't ever go online.
