No your not rambling,We see all sorts of problems with extended service intervals,from what you have described to seized in plugs(we all had experience of that im sure)to running out of oil(punters don't check it)
Its a marketing ploy,how much does a vehicle cost to run per mile.Just look at the times they give you to do some of these services .6/hr
We explain and offer to our customers the benefits of having one of our FULL services each year and at least a oil/filter change/safety check between.
As you know with fleet vehicles and some companys this is not an option.
A lot of manufactures now extend their timing belt intervals to keep running costs down,but insist on replacement under adverse conditions,what does that mean and what a cop out.
