Should i give 100,000 miles warranty on the belt even though I've never seen the car either before or after i changed the belt kit? If so how do i stand if the vehicle is never serviced, or changes hands? Thanks
I'm in need of advice.
I had a call today from a car dealer who had purchased a car from another car dealer who had taken a car in part exchange i had replaced the cam belt + kit for the previous owner. (make sense?)
The car was a citroen hdi 2.0 belt due at 100,000 miles, and the date i changed it was 08.05. The customer i dealt with lost the invoice but told the dealer i changed it, so he has phoned me wanting a copy of the invoice to which i said I'm sorry but i won't do another invoice. He is now asking about how much warranty do i give then?
I am a sole trader and now worried that i few broken belts could shut me down. What do you think? any opinion welcome either for or against.
Rob
