We arrange our own inspections, having had a nightmare with a company previously appointed by the insurance company.
There engineer? condemned one of our ramps 48 hours after it had had new lift nuts fitted, for excessive play in the lift nuts, so we recalled the company who had just repaired it, and he showed us that the movement was minimal, well within tolerances.
Another thing they used to do was not turn up 6 monthly like they were contracted to do, but still mark us down as having been inspected, and swear blind they had been, until you asked for copies of the reports. Good job we record our own dates etc. What would happen in this instance if their was an accident??.
We now use a trusted company of our choosing, who when they find a fault are also capable of repairing it. Andy
