You didn't mention the fact that some dealers are charging for delivery anyway! Nissan currently charge for any item under £100 and Ford is anything under £25. I should add that Ford (Vospers for us) have now launched a trade club similar to TPS and Vauxhall so maybe things will improve.
Some manufacturers never give discount anyhow, like Mitsubishi trucks, whilst others can't even deliver - like Chrysler.
I realise that this will vary from one place to another but we are halfway between Plymouth and Exeter, so not really out in the sticks!
If we have a 'smart' customer who wants to supply his/her own parts they are welcome to spend half a day collecting them and we also point out that any such repair will not carry a warranty.
We also find that providing a courtesy car gives more flexibility in terms of sourcing parts and finding the time to fit them.
