Unfortunately these multi-disc front loaders all seem to suffer the same fate.(own unit in my Mondeo included).Parts are virtually unobtainable and a s/hand unit will probably have the same faults.I don't know of anyone that repairs these as the build quality is so poor on the cd transport system.Most people now opt for either single play cd with I-pod hook up .£600 will now buy you all this and a navi system included.
