My understanding is that the original certificate can't be resinded only suspended (e.g. prohibition notice ). But when a fail is issued, the system ( police cameras etc ) only sees the result of the most recent test, making it to appear not to have a test on it.
Don't know what the insurance company would make of it when a major claim is made during this period.
