Has any one noticed the huge hike in the cost of spares from manufactures and branded motor parts. We are able to track our spare parts by part No's and track the rise in costs of spares. It seems to me that since the end of the scrappage scheme where motor manufactures were shawed up by public money that they are now looking to make huge profits out of the after market spares supply chain. Tracking parts on our system the average rise is about 10% in less than a year but some parts especially Ford parts, some have nearly doubled in price.

Is there any kind of watchdog that monitors the manufacturers on their price rises? The trouble is that with millions of part No's it would be a mammoth task for anyone to monitor. I believe that in such a time like as we are experiencing this is also driving the cheap and dangerous counterfeit market. Interesting to hear your comments
