Got my first n47d20a timing chain failure in today, chain at the back of the engine is hanging loose in the head and lots of rocker arms smashed. At 80K no warning just loss of drive at 70 mph..
Horror stories abound on web with reports of up to £5 grand repair bills, common problem!!! I would not have a modern diesel if you paid me, what with EGR's DPF's and injectors.......Good for business....Sad for owners.
And yes I did see Watchdog on BBC
