Hi all
Our local Mercedes agent has just refused to supply me with and ignition lock barrel for a 52 plate slk, stating Mercedes tell them not to supply independents with security related parts (dealt with this dealer for 20 + years)I have experienced the increased security req to obtain such parts and dont have a problem with that , they will supply me with a key that will work without coding ready to go, but not the barrel this does not make sense to me surely the key is more of a security issue as its plug and play. or is it a legal thing ?
Where is this going ?
Any one else been refused (seen post from two years ago but cant find anything else)
I was about to buy a Merc personally possibly not now are any other manufacurers going this way
