    CAPS

    Hi Peter,

I've used CAPS for about 3 years now. It is strictly 'electronics' only. The coverage is hit and miss at times, and a lot of the information is generic, taken straight from the Haynes Tech book.(Well both were written by same man, so that's OK).
The interface is like a kids school project, and is clearly designed to run on any old PC.Give me colour and give me a browser style interface please Omitech.

The wiring diagrams are good, but it won't print the component key with the diagram.
I did notice the other day that it now assumes you have an AD100 to program keys. This is the only coverage offered on an Astra 2.o DTL. Autodata Diesel Engine management 5 covers this in great detail. You can access this information in CAPS by using the systems option and looking up Bosch EDC, but it's cock eyed doing it this way.

The early version used to have a 'notes' option where you could add your own information and build up a database. They dropped this , which was a mistake to my mind.

I've not updated mine for a year or so - don't worry it's not time bombed - so this system may now be covered.

    IS IT WORTH?

Yes...But it no good on it's own. Just like scanners you need at least 2 systems to have a chance of a fix.

    Mark
