    i hear what you say about pc's for everything!your right , but i remenber how we gasped at doing our invoices on a PC as opposed to writing out by hand ,we had to be dragged into it! and after persisting wouldn,look back. there is diary software out there but not specific to our type of buisness.as for being too fiddly , the AIT system we use makes it so easy to raise a job sheet and convert to invoice and once a customer is logged on with details its there for life or till they chnage car.when they phone up to book,or complain!! withinseconds we have thier details and complete history to view and print out each time car comes in, , makes parts ordering in advance v easy.also one can see what was advised last time eg timing belt change next service. so we can then remind customer of work advised, even if they,ve forgotten.
    i guess we,ll keep looking at the diary side afresh
