The code you read from the instruments on the VW, was this one needed to be able to reprogram the immobilizer?
The reason I ask is my brother has a Passat and he wants to change the lock set. We have VAG-COm but can't recode the immobilizer as VW won't give us the access code. I already have a SEEPROG as I do radio decoding. It would be useful if you could give me an idea on whats invloved in getting the code out of the instrument cluster, i.e. is it a surface mount chip or normal 8 pin DIL and the locations in the chip that I can read to get the access code.
