Engines Uk Ltd

Has anyone had any dealings with Engines Uk Ltd. They are an internet based engine supplier supplying used engines. I ordered an engine a month ago and have not recieved it and am awaiting a refund. Just wondered if anyone else has used them.

Hi Mark

A customer of ours ordered a Renault engine for us to fit, it turned up a couple of weeks later but was an 8 valve not a 16v.

They refused to pick it up & he had to drive 200 miles to return it to get his refund, he said that getting the refund took him longer than it took him to drive there.

Sounds like you need to draught a strongly worded letter mate!

Hi Mark,

I ordered a gear box from them for a Renault Laguna, didn't show up, every time I managed to contact them, it was "will be delivered on Friday, will be delivered on Wednesday etc.
I finally canceled and was told a refund would be made to my credit card. No refund was made. I wrote to Barclaycard and have just had a letter confirming that Barclaycard have refunded me along with the interest that I had to pay. This has taken over two months. Barclaycard are going to investigate.

Looks like I had better give my credit card company a ring. Thanks for the input chaps. Others beware!

Hi Mark

The Aftermarket magazine is looking at creating a series of articles towards the end of the year advising people on internet purchasing, how to do it, what to look for and what to look out for!

Your experience is the type of thing they are looking for, they would like to hear more from you (full story)

Aftermarket would also like to hear from any other member who has had an experience the same as Mark. I will put a post on a closed forum with a contact e-mail address to contact direct with your experiences

from experience buying engines from unknown sources is a nightmare,buying any parts through find a part or any of the other breakers yard sites can be a total waste of time.you are normally dealing with someone who has limited technical knowledge.
It would be good to have a rating system for these companies like E'bay I suggested this to Find a part but they didn't want to know.

I am having the same nightmare with another company that ordered a MX5 engine from. That was back in June 2008. I never received the engine from them and all I get on the phone is we will refund you today and so on. I used 24/7 spares and the company that contact me is ...... Well I don't know is if want to name and shame yet.I spoke to them again yesterday and he said that the refund will be done in the next half an hour and that he will fax me the proof. Suprise suprise 3 hours later I received nothing so I called again and got through there accounds office. I asked them if the refund has been done and see said I look in to it and /i give you a call back. Nothing

. I then called again and I spoke to the owner again. He said well you gone above me calling the accounds office ( I din't I used the same number and they picked they phone up

) and he said well now you get the refund when ever. He was rude and he put the phone down on me

.

My cock up is that I used the companys debit visa card and I hope I am covered

. I spoke to my bank and they are sending me a form to complete.

I am not a happy bunny.

. £740.00 maybe down the drain.

this is becoming very common what these companys do is advertise/or phone you they have your engine gearbox or what ever, they dont have the parts but try and source them else where but in the mean time they hold your money if they do this to 500 customers thats a lot of money sitting in there high interest account because its not only the trade customers its probably a lot of joe publics money too

Have you tried contacting 24/7 parts?
I has similiar problem years ago an phone findapart directly explained situation to them and how you would be wary of using there service again work for me they contacted supplier and got money back

One of my customers paid for an engine that the "breakers had to source", when it arrived here the police arrived shortly afterwards. The engine had been stolen to order! Case still pending as far as I know.

As an aside, my son recently paid for tickets to LeedsFest which never arrived, a few of his friends also lost their money as well. It was a good quality web site that looked genuine but it now appears to be run by rogues who have probably netted thousands yet nobody wants to know or help.
