Year of Manufacture *: 2001
Engine Size and Code *: 500cc
I would appreciate an insight into this. This vehicle is a non-starter (no HT). Strange looking animal and I do not think I have been to one before. It is 2 cylinders fired by a Fiat type coil and fueled via a carburettor. Vehicle broke down and customer replaced coil and ignition module. The ignition module came from a running donor car. I have found that I have power to the coil and no switching. My attention turned to the Crank Sensor but was unable to find one..(mind you I was grovelling in about a foot of snow under the car). However, there is a "thing" underneath the cam cover with 3 wires attached. If this was a fuel injected car I would take this to be a cam sensor. I have no life on these 3 wires with engine cranking. So is this where the ECU picks up the signal to get the car running? Also, this vehicle has according to the customer a magneto. I seem to remember from days of yore breaking down on a motorbike and found I had lost ignition to the coil because the magneto had broken up inside. I have not found anything useful on the tinterweb nor in the archives. Autodata does not list the vehicle. Hence the SOS here. Thanks.
Regards
