Many thanks for your time and effort in helping me to get to the bottom of this. Yes the colour coding does make the whole thing confusing, however I think the main issue here is a lack of earth on terminal 4. I will make arrangements to have a look at the vehicle next week when I am in the area and hope he passes the MOT test in the interim which is his main concern. Many thanks again..
