I had a similair issue on avensis a while back with a p0420 emissions (posted on here) iv seen a few other cars pass an emissions test but flag a p0420 a new cat resolved the avensis with no need for software update i think the software was to adjust the parimeters that cause it to flag the code as they were a little to strict even for a perfectly good cat thats how i understood it any way correct me if am wrong anyone lee
