Surprised and astonished, rang the ECU repairers to tell them, they already had the answer and just had not rang to tell me, the problem was in the ECU on the O2 sensor circuit but the damage and signal loss on the O2 sensor wiring fools the ECUs fault memory into believing that the throttle system was at fault, basically corrupting the data. So don't believe all you read, the old adage about computers getting crap in will just result in crap out seems very apt here.

P.S. have funnily enough also see an earth return fault causing major running problems with a TVR also, cured by earthing the earth return from the O2 sensor heater to a earth bolt on the engine, cutting the wires on both sensors to stop the signal returning to the ECU.
