UKAT5143, thanks for your educated reply there about how I operate and how I fitted inferior parts etc, Now if you would care to get down off that high horse of yours a minute!,
The cat was replaced as had collapsed inside, the customer was advised it required a genuine cat and declined to have that fitted based on cost of the part. We fitted a OE equivalent part as we always do regardless of what the part is so was not a cheap no brand cat. My question was is there a software upgrade available and here we are with a reply which has no info whatsoever related to what I had asked so it makes me wonder where you come from in the trade, I suspect ex main dealer where you have ingrained that every part non dealer would be "shit parts" as you put it. We operate to try and help our customers and build relationships not screw them at every opportunity for the most expensive part possible. If a genuine cat is required it will be fitted and we all have built up our experience along the way with what to fit and what not to fit but coming on here and telling me I have fitted "Shit" parts and made my bed etc is not helpful. Maybe take a leaf from Aidens book above, He has diplomatically told me the same thing in a way which we in the trade understand but he hasn't let rip like you have. I am pleased you have all this knowledge but maybe try and an answer the question in future and not just have a go, Interestingly if you had read the full description above you will know it is a petrol car.
