The fault was caused because the lower timing chains had stretched causing the chain to jump on the injection pump sprocket, one chain was so bad I was able to place my finger between the tensioning rail and the chain and I’ve got very big fingers. The guide rail was loose because the bolts had not been tightened by the previous repairer and the bolts in the sprocket to inj pump crossed, the pin in the bottom crank pulley was bent but hadn't broken. The chains only come complete with the lower and inj pump sprocket, 2 x chains, guide rail and the tensioning rail, all are set up ready to fit in one unit and timed up. the mark on the outer inj pump sprocket was added by the previous repairer and on closer inspection there was also a small mark on the inner timing cover they had used (a lesson to be learned) the mark made it look like the original so it was at almost 12 o clock when in fact the pin behind the outer pulley was at 2 o'clock showing the crank to pump timing to be out by 2 or 3 teeth.
Evidently 2 fault codes will occur if the crank to pump timing is incorrect, one is an internal ECM unit fault and the other showing the injection pump as being faulty.

I’m sure it's not going to be a common fault but I thought I’d post the fix anyway
