Seat Ibiza MY2000 ALD 1.0 - Broke down while driving, non start Archived Message

    Hi all,

I am told this broke down as it was being driven but it is trade and I have not spoken to the owner. The trade customer has been at it before me.

    Symptoms -
    Non Start
FP Relay not being pulled to ground.
No comms with VagCom, Snappy or Texa.

This is not CAN so AD diagrams are wrong.
    All other modules comm ok.
    Radio (common problem) disconnected.
Live data in immob shows key signal ok, signal sent to Engine ECU ok but no response from it.
K line goes through the cluster but the cluster comms ok as does immob (in cluster).
ECU has all it's supplies and earths, load tested too.
AD and ESI agree on supplies and earths so I imagine these are correct.
    K Line has 11.5v

I wired VagCom direct and it pulls the k line to ground but no response from the ECU.

The outside of the ECU shows signs of water (I think these always do) but it is bone dry inside and no visible damage.

Now to the question - with good supplies and earths and what I think is a good k line but still no comms is this enough to condem the ECU?

    Thanks

    Alan
