On the non-CAN versions of this system , the diagnostic signal goes via the immobiliser (not via the radio). This means that a faulty immobiliser can prevent you from acheiving communication with the engine ECU - even if you can acheive communication with the immobiliser. I suggest you send the ECU to us for testing as this may be the best way of resolving the matter. With regard to the main relay , there are two versions depending upon the part number of the ECU , some versions do not need a main relay to power the ECU , they power up from ignition positive only.
