    Hi John, did you fit another starter?
    The starter fault is as Tony describes it,we repair starters also and found the same fault.The starter fault then causes an EMF in the starter wiring which imposes an additional frequency onto the CAS signal.If you look at it on the scope you can see the imposed dirty signal and the increased frequency on the CAS signal because of it.Thats why the ECU reads between 1200 -2500 rpm on crank and the rev counter bounces about the same range.
